Best Western Potsdam University Park Inn

Room layout, location, decor, cleanliness, comfort, friendly & helpful staff.

Breakfast could have used potatoes and the batter for waffles

Clean room, prompt checking, everything works, with a good shower.

relatively quiet

we did not get the "Riverside" room that we booked and paid for....

The location is great. The breakfast was good.

I do not like that the price changes depending on what is going on in the area. It feels like price gouging and it is disappointing. We had to move to another hotel after one night because the price doubled from one night to the next. Disappointing.

Breakfast was standard but laid out nicely in a nice eating area.Parking is convenient.Grounds were lovely.Staff were friendly and helpful.Comfortable bed.Good selection of snacks to purchase, plus microwavable food.

Food left in the mini fridge from previous guest.Housekeeper left spray bottle and rag from cleaning.Bathroom had an unpleasant odor.No elevator.

I have nothing to say about the hotel. There were no rooms available and I was notified the day I was to arrive and booking.con had as of yet done nothing to rectify the situation.

I did not get to stay there. The day I was to arrive they called to say they had no rooms.

We felt like they didn't think things through when they remodeled and made the transition from Clarkson Inn to Best Western. For instance, the bathroom had no outlets and the bathroom mirror light switch was outside the bathroom by the room door. There was no mini-fridge or closet in the room, and we had some medication and food that needed to be refrigerated and clothes to hang. In addition, the blinds on the windows were very difficult to pull down. While they eventually did give us a ground-floor room as requested, they were initially going to put us on the second floor and the hotel has no elevator! It took about 20 minutes for us to finally get checked in. The poor lady at the reception desk was also taking care of breakfast the next morning, and they ran completely out of some main breakfast items, such as eggs. Overall, it was a nice hotel but they definitely have some kinks to work through!!

I didn’t realize the property was under construction when I booked but the rooms were modern and the noise was only noticeable during the day. The staff was all very friendly and it was a great stay for a weekend in Potsdam.

Filthy room and facilities - shame because the hotel is really nice

Room was absolutely filthy - so were the rest of the facilities. I complained to management and they didn’t respond.

Great location, friendly staff, very nice modern and spacious room, great vanity for getting ready, beautiful view and nice place for walking

The bed was very thin and uncomfortable, got woken up at 6am with doors slamming

I liked the people at the desk . They were very accommodating! The breakfasts were great! Thank you for making my new 2026 experiences wonderful!

One day they ran out of eggs. A shower chair would be a nice addition.

This is by far one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. The beds were comfortable, the set up was excellent, staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I haven't stayed in a hotel as nice as this one in years. I'd highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through above all others.

There isn't anything I didn't like about this hotel.

Location and building were amazing. Room was generous and beds were comfortable.

Breakfast was slim pickings. My room floor was dirty when we arrived. Lots of hair all over on the floor that hadn’t been cleaned. The knob to push to turn the shower on was missing.

Location, room was large, bed was comfortable.

Very low water pressure in shower and water was lukewarm.

The location is great for what we were there for.

Other guests tend to be a bit noisy in the mornings. I suppose there's not much that can be done about that. The location has a lot of large trucks roll through as well.

The entire cleaning staff quit their jobs the day of my arrival. The hotel could not get the rooms cleaned fast enough to allow for on-time check-ins for the guests who arrived that day. The hotel could not honor my 2 night reservation that I booked with Booking.com. I had to find another hotel room fir the second night imof my stay and it was 2x the cost of whatvI had originally booked.

Living room was very large, clean and comfortable. Lovely room

Booking.com reservation was lost in the system so check in was long and a little nerve wracking

Room was occupied upon arrival. Second room given was occupied also. Ended up with a room not fitting for our situation.

breakfast was mediocre. the good news is, the airport diner in10 min away and was superb. go there.

breakfast

Easy to enter and exit.

Room door needs adjusting as it closes with hard slam & sticks when opening as it requires hard pull. Sink so shallow water splashes all over counter when washing hands, face, brushing teeth; no towel racks in sink area; no place to hang anything longer than shirt on back of bathroom door; no waste basket in bathroom; body wash container in back of tube was empty. General room had no closet or place to hang anything; lamp by chair (windows) had no light bulb. No directions on how to use TV properly. Could hear other doors closing in hallway.
